Message from the President I
hope everyone’s holidays were as joyful as Andrea’s and mine were. As we begin the new millennium it seems that we are getting closer and closer to the mainstream. As I was getting ready to write this article, I had the TV on in the background and a commercial came on that caught my attention. It was for a company that sells electronic games. You see a man in full crossdress (not very well done) and he says, “What will it take to keep this from your mother?” Next we see a surprised young boy who immediately sees himself with the newest Sega. There is a brief spiel about the company and next we see Grandpa in the bathroom. He is talking on a cordless phone and wearing a tee shirt, boxer shorts, black thigh highs, and heels. You hear a girl’s voice in the background and she is telling him to hurry up. Then it’s back to more info about the company. So maybe if we keep pushing a little at a time no one will have to endure the kind of treatment to which Peter Oiler has been subjected (see article titled “A Letter from Mary Frances “ on page ?). At least that is my wish for the new year. January
