The Alpha Omega Society is pleased to sponsor a series of book signings and lectures over Memorial Day Weekend by Helen Boyd, celebrated author of My Husband Betty (2003) and most recently She’s Not the Man I Married. All appearances are open to the public.
Many forms of cross-gendered behavior and identity have been become increasingly visible in modern society. Movies such as “Normal” and “Transamerica” have raised awareness, and recent TV shows have further added scope, including the stories of children. What's frequently hard to see are the stories of spouses whose partners crossdress or are considering a sex change. Helen Boyd provides those stories, both her own and those of women who she has befriended while loving and dealing with Betty.
Our mission at the Alpha Omega Society is to provide support for those affected by crossdressing - including the concerns and needs of spouses. Our hope is that Ms. Boyd's voice will educate, comfort and enlighten people in our area. (5.15.07)
