To the Larynx and Beyond

Recently I saw an announcement that a larynx had been transplanted, and had restored speech, albeit a somewhat different voice to the recipient.

"Doctors replaced Heidler's larynx, or voice box, along with part of his trachea, throat and nerves. Because they didn't want to disrupt the larynx's blood supply, they also transplanted the nearby thyroid and parathyroid glands, too. The patient now has two thyroid glands, both of which appear to work, as well as eight parathyroid glands."

He speaks normally now.....so can trannies acquire women's voices in the future as part of FFS?  One more ornament on the SUV of sex change?....or are we being pedestrian in our dreaming...if a voice box and nerves can be transplanted why not other organs?

[Cue twilight zone muzak]

Mr. Jones, thank you for agreeing to see me.  You are in a peculiar position.  I know that you and your wife very badly wanted a child at the time of her accidental death.  Your wife, being a very giving person had left an organ donor card in her purse.  That creates an opportunity for you to realize your dream...you see your wife's reproductive organs were transplanted into me 5 years ago.  I very nearly didn't survive the surgery myself, but I'm happy to say, and extremely grateful that I've survived and now the transplant has become fully functional.  My doctors see no reason why I can't bear children, your children.  My pelvis is a little narrow, so delivery would have to be by Caesarean...but it would be my pleasure, honor and duty to give you the child you dreamed of.

Oh Mr. Jones, you wouldn't have to impregnate me yourself,  artificial insemination is quite effective, although I would be quite willing for you to try....you are after all a handsome man, and by all accounts a kind, decent and open minded person.  Today....er well not today...its that time of the month...excuse me, I'm feeling a little crampy and the cycles only started up 3 months ago so I'm not quite used to this.

Thanks for the water Mr. Jones, I can call you Harold can't I?  Why did I need such unusual organ transplant?  Harold dear, please sit down, you've had enough shocks for one day...there dear, now I know this may sound odd, especially looking at me...but I was born with male genitals....now wait dear, hear me out, I always knew I was really a girl, and when I got older I took steps...and now I'm one of the first few people to change sex, I mean really change sex...although this just makes it possible for me to be fully the woman I knew I was all along....

my voice?  Oh, another poor deceased woman.....an opera singer  I was told, yes I think its a lovely voice too.
