Here are links to various essay's I've written. Some appear only hear, while others are culled from the newsletter. Some are serious, some are supposed to be funny, and some are very controversial. Read this section at your own discretion. The opinions here are mine and not those of the AO Society.
Self Indulgence Ok, once in a while I write something mordant enough to think it might provoke some thought. Here's one such little confection Your Web Mistress Reviews Amy Bloom's Normal The publisher kindly sent us a review copy of Amy Bloom's new book, Normal. Normal contains an expanded version of the "Conservative Men in Conservative Dresses Article, as well as essays on Female-to-Male transsexuals and people with intersexed conditions. This review is lengthy and you may find it as unsettling as the book. PFLAG TALK This is probably the most controversial article on the site....unless you count my general attitude. I've no complaints so far, which puzzles me. Who We Serve June was a busy month. I wrote a lot. The New Girl You can get a feel for more of my biases from this book review. Also from June 2003. My Husband Betty I like the book, and recommend it..but I also have some quibbles
